Network passwords for staff have to contain numbers, letters and special characters (#,$,!). At least one capital letter must be included. Spaces are considered special characters so a complete sentence will work as a network password. Such as "My d0gs name is Sp0t!" This would be a strong password.
Passwords must be a minimum of eight (8) characters long.
Passwords must be changed every 240 days.
After five (5) failed computer login attempts your account is locked. The lock stays in place for ten (10) minutes from the last failed attempt. So, if you tried three times and get it on the fourth try the logout restrictions reset.
You have the ability to change your password at any time by using Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Any password reset will start the 240 day password change trigger over again. Best practice would be to change your password at the start of the school year and again sometime just after the holiday break.
The server remembers your last three (3) passwords.
